Bill Reed Junior

Bill Reed Junior is the son of the late Bill Reed - The Diamonds original bass singer. Bill has an active and enduring interest in the activities of his famous dad and over the past few years has represented Bill (senior) at a number of award ceremonies and celebrations. The authors of this site wish to thank Mr Reed for his support and contributions. Bill recently attended the 11th annual National induction and Gala Concert of the Doo-Wopp hall of fame of America, and he writes;

We had a great time. 24 friends of ours went. We took a mini bus there. On the bus we played a diamonds CD. Once we arrived we all had a drink at one on the bars and a toast to my dad. We sat 10 rows from the stage. The place was packed. There were about 1500 people there. Dave went on last. Before he went on the MC of the show, Harvey Robbins. Introduced me as the original bass singers oldest son Bill Reed Jr. The crowd gave me about a 30 second ovation. Then Harvey handed me the microphone. I thanked him for having the show once a year. I thanked my friends and wife for being there. I told the crowd then that dad was looking down on us. Then I sang a couple of lines from LULU’S BACK IN TOWN.(You get the general idea buddy, LULU’S BACK IN TOWN AND I AM HAVING MYSELF A BALL!) The place went nuts!! Then Harvey introduced Dave. Dave sang ZIP ZIP first. Then Silouett’s. Then the stroll, then he sang Little Darlin and sang the bass. He didn’t sound as good as dad. But I didn’t except him to. Before Dave went on I was back stage in his dressing room with Mike Lewis for about an hour. We talked about dad and Ted. It was a good day.
